Travel Diary Video: Bucas Grande 2018

Last Updated on November 8, 2021 by Ran

Last week, I went to visit Bucas Grande island in the Philippine province of Surigao del Norte.

It wasn’t my first time there– I had actually already gone to Bucas Grande once way back in 2016, but I gotta say, this is one place I’d love to go visit over and over again!

Just like before, we landed in Bancasi Airport, Butuan City, and went on a 3-hour-long van ride to Hayangabon Port, where we had another hour-long boat ride to Socorro, Surigao.

That’s where we stayed for 3 days and 2 nights as we explored the beautiful Bucas Grande in all its entirety.

Technically, Bucas Grande is a part of Siargao Islands– you know, one of the rising tourism destinations here in the Philippines. It was featured in Drew Arellano’s Biyahe ni Drew segment before and now, more and more people are coming to visit.

While Siargao, or rather, General Luna specifically, is better known for its surfing beach, Bucas Grande, on the other hand, is the place to go to if you want to experience nature at its finest. Mountains, beaches, rivers, name it, and Bucas Grande has it! The island is still quite undeveloped: a beauty all on its own, perfect for all nature lovers out there.

This is my first attempt in making a travel video, so please bear with me! I actually have an underwater camera that I use for my beach travels, but unfortunately, it stopped working before this trip. I had to film pretty much the whole trip using my iPhone. Hopefully, it looks alright! Please let me know what you guys think!

Also, I want to apologize in advance for the influx of Bucas Grande posts soon! I have a couple of blog posts prepared regarding my latest trip, so if you want to know more, please stay tuned!

Happy travels to you all!

    1. Awww, thank you so much! I really appreciate it. ♥️ But honestly, I owe it all to my oldie but goodie iPhone 7+ haha!

    1. It is! It’s still one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to in the Philippines. I hope you find the time to visit the next time you go back home!

    1. Thank you so much! I was actually surprised that the video came out decent since I just took it using my then-2-year-old iPhone 7+. And yes, one would need to bring a lot of sunscreen to properly enjoy this place, haha!
